Veterinary radiology has seen tremendous advancement in recent years. The speed and quality of images has improved greatly. Radiographs (x-rays) and ultrasound are excellent, non-invasive diagnostic tools. At South Mesa, we have the latest digital radiography. The images are obtained very quickly and can be transmitted and saved electronically.
All of our radiographs are reviewed by a board certified veterinary radiologist whose skills have been recognized and evaluated by the American College of Veterinary Radiologists and sanctioned by the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Our ultrasounds are also performed by a board certified veterinary radiologist. This is a more sensitive method of assessing internal organs. The procedure usually lasts about 20-30 minutes and clients are welcome to watch and ask questions during the evaluation.
