Dr. Vegter
Dr. Amanda Vegter is a passionate small-animal and exotic species veterinarian devoted to advancing animal health and enhancing the lives of pets and their families. With a deep love for working with animals, she has made it her mission to provide compassionate and comprehensive care.
Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Vegter moved to Denver in 2015 and relocated to Fort Collins in 2018, where she embraces the outdoor adventures and vibrant living that Colorado has to offer. Her home is filled with her two dogs, Meli and Bodie, her foster bulldog, Margie, and her bearded dragon, King Zazu.
Dr. Vegter earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2023 and also holds a Master of Science in Marine Biology from James Cook University in Australia. She holds a strong belief in the importance of preventative medicine with specific interests in dermatology, soft-tissue surgery, pet nutrition, exotics/wildlife medicine, and affordable access to care.
Dr. Vegter also enjoys volunteering at low-cost spay/neuter/vaccine clinics and rescues in Montana and Colorado. Her dedication to providing care to pets and their people across all walks of life is a reflection of her commitment to the human-animal bond.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her partner, Brandon, visiting music venues, hiking, camping, skiing, scuba diving, and thrifting. She is excited to serve the Fort Collins and surrounding areas and looks forward to helping your furred, feathered, and scaled babies!
