Dr. Cerda
Dr. Jacey Cerda was born and raised in the wilds of Jackson, Wyoming, where she grew up with a deep love for both domestic and wild animals.
She came to Colorado originally for her B.S. in Wildlife Biology at Colorado State University (CSU). After working as a wildlife biologist in the western United States and South Africa, she went to law school and was a trial attorney for several years. Dr. Cerda decided that the DVM would allow her to have a perfect mix of domestic animal clinical practice and research in biodiversity conservation; thus, she obtained her DVM from CSU.
She joins South Mesa after being an associate veterinarian at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital and a Fulbright Scholar in Australia, where she studied biodiversity conservation and wildlife medicine during bushfires. Dr. Cerda enjoys building deep relationships with her clients and helping to strengthen the human-animal bond between her patients (including exotics) and their families.
When she is not at the hospital, Dr. Cerda is continuing her research with CSU, and enjoys gardening, cooking, exercise in all forms, and spending time with her husband, their chickens, and their Australian Shepherd, Scotus.
